The port of St. Maarten in January of 2001 completed the construction
of a new Cruise terminal and cargo pier. The investment involved with
this expansion of the port was in access of USD 65 million. The cargo
pier was lengthened and the storage area enlarged. Both piers will allow
mega vessels, Cruise and Cargo vessels, to dock in save waters.

The newly constructed cargo pier and terminal facility, which recently
was taken into operation, will allow all type of cargo vessels to be
discharged. LOLO operations from the U.S. and Europe can be easily handled
in the harbor. With the purchase of a Gottwald crane in the near future
the terminal services will become much more efficient end the turn around
time of a cargo vessel should improve tremendously. RORO vessels for
break bulk cargo will also benefit from the newly constructed facilities.
Length of the pier: 271 meters or 895 feet.

South Quay: 130 meters or 429 feet

The new terminal has 35.000 sq. meters of storage space. 30 Reefer plugs
for optimal cooling of frozen products.

The dimensions of the new Cruise pier are: Length 650 meters or 2.130
feet; Width 20 meters or 65 feet. Nautical depth to the pier is 10.5
meters (35 ft).

The Cruise Passenger Terminal (14.000 sq. ft.) houses a full communications
and internet facilities, postal services, restrooms, tourist information
banking facilities, convenience stores, car rental offices and local
taxi transportation services are available.
